Sinhala Calendar (sinhalacalendar.com) is published by Dailyworks Commerce Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, Chennai, India. This page explains what information is collected when you use the site, and why.
The short version
- You do not need an account, and there are no forms to fill in.
- We do not ask for your name, email, phone number or birth details.
- We do not show advertising or use advertising or remarketing trackers.
- We measure how the site is used, in two ways described below, to understand which pages and features are useful.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, a service provided by Google, to measure visits: pages viewed, approximate location (country or city level, derived by Google), device and browser type, and standard interactions such as scrolling and clicks on links to other sites. Google Analytics sets first-party cookies (named _ga and _ga_B109KHY4ZF) to recognise a returning browser.
- We do not send Google any user ID, name or contact detail, and we have not enabled Google Signals.
- Google keeps event-level data for this site for 2 months, and data tied to a returning browser for 14 months, after which it is deleted.
Google processes this data under its own privacy policy. You can block Google Analytics with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on or your browser’s privacy settings.
Our own page measurement
Separately, the site records a small first-party event when a page is viewed, stored in our own database. Each event contains the page address, the kind of page (for example today’s calendar, the Poya calendar or the New Year page), the year shown where relevant, whether the browser is on a phone or a computer, and a random session identifier.
The session identifier is held in a cookie named dwsid. It is a random value, it is not linked to you, and it expires 30 minutes after your last page view. These events do not include your IP address.
Server logs
Like almost every website, our web server records each request: your IP address, the time, the page requested, the referring page and your browser’s user-agent string. We use these logs to keep the site running and secure, for example to block abusive traffic. Access logs are kept for 30 days and error logs for 7 days, then deleted automatically.

If you are one of the site’s administrators and sign in, WordPress also sets its own login cookies. Visitors never receive these.
Sharing
We do not sell or rent any information. The only third party that receives visit data is Google, for the analytics described above.
Children
This site is a general-audience calendar. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If we change what we collect, we will update this page and the date at the top.
